1April 28th, 2012 - On Saturday night the team took part in a Weekly Racing Series Event with their #33b Bryson Motorsports/Crate Late Model and #33b Bryson Motorsports/BAD Chassis. He began the night in the NeSmith Crate Late Model division by setting fast time to earn the pole position for the first heat race. With the top side being the preferred line he recorded a second place finish in his heat, which locked him into the third starting spot for the feature. He would advance one spot in the feature to finish second behind race winner, Jeremy Shaw.

In the Super Late Model division Cooley would qualify third fastest in time trials, which locked him into the third starting spot for the feature. He would go on to record a third place in the feature behind race winner, Jason Brock, and Rick Rickman. Full results are available at www.ColumbusSpeedway.net.

1April 27th, 2012 - Friday night found Eric entering a $10,000-to-win, World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model event at North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, Alabama) in the #33b Bryson Motorsports/BAD Chassis/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. With 35 cars entered Cooley finished sixth in his heat, which left him two spots short of a transfer to the feature. After starting on the second row of his b-main Cooley advanced to a third place finish, which locked him into the 22nd starting spot for the 50 lap feature. After failing to make up much ground early in the feature, Eric would ultimately retire to an 18th place finish in the final rundown. Full results are available at www.WoOLMS.com.

April 14th, 2012 - On Saturday night the team entered the second night of the 1st Annual Spring Throw Down at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). In the NeSmith Crate Late Model division a $1,000-to-win event was held, and it would be a great night for Eric as he began his night by setting fast time in his group to earn a front row starting spot, alongside Chase Washington. For the first half of the feature it would be a repeat of Friday night's main event as Cooley led the way with Washington in pursuit. However, Washington would soon find his way to the lead as Cooley slipped to second. However, a few laps later Cooley would shoot to the lead, but the race would be far from over as a few laps later Jeremy Shaw moved to the lead. In the closing laps Eric would battle back to the front on his way to his third win of the 2012 season. He was followed across the finish line by Jeremy Shaw, Chase Washington, Evan Ellis, and Kyle Shaw.

In the $8,000-to-win, Super Late Model event, with 43 entries on hand, Eric's luck would not be as good as he would fall just short of transferring to the feature via his heat race and b-main, which brought his night to a disappointing, early end.

April 13th, 2012 - Less than a week after the biggest win of his career, Eric returned to action on Friday night with the opener for the inaugural Spring Throw Down at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). He was in action in the NeSmith Late Model division and the Super Late Model class.

With an $800 check on the line, a strong field of 31 entries were on hand in the NeSmith Late Model division. Eric began the night by qualifying second fastest in his group to lock into the fourth starting spot for the feature. Early in the 20 lap feature he would find his way to the lead and would maintain the top spot until Chase Washington slipped by with just five laps remaining to claim the win. Cooley would go on to finish second.

The Super Late Model class battled in a $2,000-to-win event as 35 cars registered for action. Eric qualified sixth fastest in his group, which earned him the third starting spot for a b-main. With the top three cars moving onto the feature, Cooley finished third to lock into the 16th starting spot for the 30 lap feature. In the main event he advanced three spots on his way to a 13th place finish. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com.

1April 7th, 2012 - After seeing the team's scheduled, $5,000-to-win, NeSmith Late Model Series event at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) postponed by rain, the team decided to heat east to Green Valley Speedway (Glencoe, Alabama) for a $10,000-to-win, Crate Late Model event. With 43 entries on hand, Eric qualified second fastest in his group before winning the first heat race to lock into the pole position for Saturday night's finale. He was joined on the front row by Kenny Compton Jr.

As the main event green on Saturday evening Compton Jr. assumed control of the lead, and Eric would pursue him for 28 laps before using lapped traffic to his advantage on lap 29 to take over the top spot. Once out front Cooley would find the going to be far from easy as Chris Wilson made a late race charge to try and take the top spot. Eric would fend off the advances from Wilson as he went on to pick up the biggest win of his career. He was followed across the finish line by Wilson, Compton Jr., Jake Teague, and Chase Edge. April 1st, 2012 - Sunday evening found Eric pulling double-duty at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) in a Weekly Racing Series Event. In the Super Late Model division he qualified sixteenth fastest before racing his way to a thirteenth place finish in the twenty-two car field.

With twenty-six, NeSmith Late Models entered Eric would earn the eleventh starting spot for the main event via time trials. In the feature he would race to as high as the third position before over-heating issues with five laps remaining forced him to retire to a 20th place finish in the final rundown.
