1June 20, 2020 - On Thursday afternoon Eric Cooley invaded Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) piloting the 78 Towing No. 33 Late Model for the three-day General Tire Clash at the Mag. Drawing 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries for two rounds of preliminary features leading up to the main event on Saturday, Cooley followed up the 11th fastest time in his group with a seventh place finish in his heat. Needing a second place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Eric logged an eighth place outing.

The following night for another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Eric fell two spots short of transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main, Cooley recorded a seventh place finish.

Slated to start near the tail of his B-Main on Saturday for one final shot at the $15,000-to-win General Tire Clash at the Mag, Cooley elected to save equipment and scratched from the 12-lapper.

June 13, 2020 - After more than a two-month hiatus due to the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Eric Cooley kicked off his 2020 season on Saturday night at ECM Speedway (Bremen, Ala.) for the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) sanctioned program. Earning the 10th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Cooley was passing for fifth when mechanical issues struck, forcing him to retire from the remainder of the evening.
